3 Goals I Have for This Blog

It’s finally here, the official launch of Life Update. There’s so much that’s been going on behind the scenes and I can’t wait for you to see what’s in store. As is the case for any new beginning, it’s always a good idea to start with a few goals.

1. Representation

I’ve been blogging for a few years now, and the main goal of my first blog (Rae’s Reads and Reviews) has always been to showcase diversity. As it turns out, diversity doesn’t necessarily equal representation.

I am a lot of things. I’m a Christian. I am Haitian-American. I’m a woman. I am a first-generation college student. I’m so much more than these labels.

On this blog, I plan on writing about things that matter. I plan on writing articles that people can relate to, whether they fall into all or none of these categories. This is not only my outlet, but also my tool to help you see that you’re not alone in your own thoughts and struggles. I want this to become a community.

2. Engagement

If these posts are boring, please tell me. The goal is not disengagement. I want to write articles that matter, but that doesn’t mean they should be a total snooze-fest.

This isn’t just for me, it’s also for you.

I want you to feel like this is a community where you can relate to what is said and new conversations are started. The goal is for each article to leave you with something to think about. Maybe even something you talk about with your friends.

3. Consistency

You probably didn’t know this (since I haven’t really told anyone), but I’ve been working on this blog ever since the start of 2019. I didn’t want it to have an official launch until I knew that this was something that I not only wanted to do, but would also be keeping up with.

Consistency was something that I struggled with immensely when I started my first blog, but it’s also something I’ve been working on.

There are currently over twenty drafts on this page. At least half of them are complete, just waiting to be published.

Your support also means a lot to me, so if you don’t hear anything from this blog for over a week, feel free to use the contact box. I check my email all the time, so seeing that people are not only reading these posts, but asking for more of them would definitely help keep me motivated.

What are your some of your goals(Life, health, family, education, New Years)?

Some may call me a critic, but then again, everyone's a critic. This blog is dedicated to my reviews, whether they be book reviews, movie reviews, product reviews, or all the reviews. Did I say reviews enough?
