I was watching this Kennie J. D. video, as I tend do on Saturdays, and it was sponsored by none other than Skillshare. I’ve been hearing about Skillshare on YouTube for quite some time now, especially since they sponsor just about everyone. I decided with quarantine and all, now would actually be a good time to try it out.
I’m using the two month free trial right now that was in the bio of the video so I really have nothing to lose at this point. I just have to make sure I cancel it in time, if that’s something I end up doing. So far, I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
After signing up for the account, I decided to browse around the videos and ended up on the 100 Day Project. It wasn’t something I was familiar with but I had the time so I decided to check it out.
The https://www.the100dayproject.org/100 Day Project is basically something you can decide to do on your own from home. You commit to doing something for 100 days, whether it be drawing or writing or stitching together felt pockets. The world is your oyster with this one.
For my 100 Day Project, I decided that I wanted to focus on visual art. At first, I thought about drawing portraits every day but realized that would be too time consuming and I’d probably get bored after a while. Then I thought about just using the time to write but I remembered my consistency issues. In the end, I decided to do something I haven’t done in a while that always sparks joy when I start.
I will be creating a collage every day for the next 100 days. Each collage will have a theme and I’ll probably figure those out as I go. I’ll be posting the collages on my Instagram story each day and I’ll probably doing a weekly wrap-up here.
I’m super excited to start this journey and I’m hoping it will start to stir up those creative juices.
